I got a call from this number from a man with broken English stating I was randomly selected with 1,700 other Americans to receive a grant for $10,200 from the government. Stated it was free money and all mine. So I go along with him asking questions. I keep asking the name of his company. He repeatedly states, This is the United States Government Grants Department. I say, it sounds like a scam. He promises it is not.

He states that I have two ways to get the money. First is to give him my bank account number and it will be in my account with 20 to 25 minutes, the other is to give him my credit card number and they can put it on there - ANY credit card. I said, no, I will not do either, just send me a check. He said, 'This is the United States Government Grants Department, we do not write checks". So I quickly looked them up on the internet. There was an article from the Washington Post stating if you get a call from The United States Government Grants Department, hang up immediately because it is a scam. I read the article to the man. He said, 'No this is not a scam. This is the United States Government Grants Department and we have $10,200 for you, just give me your bank account number'. I repeatedly said, no just send me a check. Finally I hung up.

He was persistent.

This guy calls my phone three times a day and is very rude I blocked my number I want to report this number

keeps calling during the day while at work.. very annoying. would like to have these people traced and arrested for spamming people.
