Computer software--this was a live call made from a boilerroom operation trying to tell me that they had notification through the internet that my computer is infected with a virus.

told me my computer had a virus and they were an authorized representative of microsoft and could fix it. When i looked up the number they gave me, MANY other people have filed complaints that their caller id showed 206-397-1126

The caller claimed to be from Windows, and that there were problems with my computer which they would help me identify and correct. They told me to turn on my computer and than to press the Windows logo key on the lower left of the keyboard and the R key at the same time. I let them think that I was following their instructions but I did not learn what this might do as I had to take another important call. I am sure that they are up to no good. This is about the sixth time they have called but I usually hang up and tell them They will be reported. This time I adopted a different strategy to keep them on the phone , try to learn more about them and have it cost them for phone time.The call came from T Access 206 397 1126 as per my caller ID.
