Called on a Saturday morning. Caller ID listed SSA. Did not answer as social security is not going to call me on a Saturday. They did not leave a voice mail. Must be spam.
I received a message from Robert Sykes 3 weeks ago. I had just applied for Medicare so I thought he was legit. I called him back 5 days in a row and left messages but he never called back. Then this morning he called. He asked me a few questions to prove I was the person he was trying to reach. Nothing too personal. He told me he didn't receive the 2 forms I need to apply. I know that is not true because I have a copy of everything he was faxed. The forms he wanted have my social on them, so I decided not to send them to him. After the call I went on MY Social Security and it said I have been approved. That tells me that Mr. Sykes is a scammer.
I received a call today from a man identifying himself as Robert Sykes as well. I didn't trust the call and am still trying to verify if he does, in fact, work for SSA. However, when I applied for my SS, I did receive an e-mail stating that they would either reply back to me via phone call of e-mail. Don't know what to believe about this call. Anyone with additional info, please respond. Thank you.
I called the SSA hotline and was told that nobody from SSA ever calls - they will sent a letter. This person has called me twice saying he is Robert Sykes. However, the 2nd time I answered and he called me by my middle names (I have two) instead of my first and last names which he mispronounced. Highly suspicious. The SSA hotline will give you the info you need.
I also got request re plan B enrollment, but they asked no personal info
