This is a valid CHASE Bank call. There were fraudulent transactions and they were following up on my inquiry. (I think some people are a bit paranoid claiming everything is phony). There are banks calling to follow up on legitimate issues. Chase handles credit cards for other affiliates as well. (This is the Fraud Department’s outgoing phone line, they give a different number to make incoming call to their fraud department – standard practice for any Bank)
Credit Card
I recently applied online for a chase credit card, and the confirmation email the automation system sent out was indicating if I get approved, they would send out their decision via mail (not by phone). I would definitely not trust anyone says they are the bank and just "call" to confirm your credit card application. Luckily today I didn't pick it up and went for looking it up online and found out it might be scam.
Yes, it was Chase, but they did not follow their protocol of indicating who was calling. Instead I called up the number on the back of the card and cleared up several suspicious charges.
Phone call from Chase. CALL the number on the back of your debit/credit card to verify your account activity.
