Could barely understand the caller, almost thought it was a robocall. Had a similar one last week as well.

Also called me in Madison area about 8:45 am 7-19 with same spiel. Extremely dangerous and disturbing scam that potentially can be physically and emotionally harmful to elderly people with health issues. The IRS has issued warnings about this scam but these warnings do not always reach the people who most need to be aware of them.

I received the same message today in Madison, WI

Call was a recorded message from 651-410-5573, but "Steve Martin" (very heavy accent) said he was from the US Treasury, & ignoring his call would be a second federal offense. He said I had to call this number--totally different area code & everything--or I'd have to go before a Grand Jury or a Magistrate Judge. (I'm a lawyer, & he obviously isn't. I didn't call back.)
