Marian County Jail recording. Unfortunately I'm familiar with answering jail calls, but this wasn't anyone that I know.
Those saying it's a "scam" are incorrect. It's standard practice- the first time an inmate calls that number, they allow you a 1-2 minute free call, and advise you to have your CC available because when that time is up, you'll be connected (if you don't hang up) to someone at their call center to add money to a prepaid account & accept any additional calls. Hence the toll-free number that contacts you going forward. It's far more likely that it IS someone incarcerated, who is attempting to call the wrong number. Be courteous- use your free call and let them know they called the wrong person. They'll stop.
Jail scam trying to say a prisoner is calling and to accept the charges.
I was hoping to be able to talk to inmates but they just charged my credit card for $500 and have no way to talk to the studs.
It is a scam. They wanted me to accept a free 2 minute call from an inmate at the Marion County Jail, and wanted me to have my credit card ready so they could bill it for future calls from Marion County Jail. Yeah....no....I think not.
Its not a scam. Its the marion county jail in indianapolis, indiana. The 800 number is so you can put money on the acct
