Here is all the info - NEVER answer their calls - they are a scam. Sadly there is nothing you can do because they are not a legal company. You jsut have to ignore them.

For at least the last four years, possibly longer, a group has been calling former payday loan applicants advising them that they have defrauded a bank and are now being sued for non-payment of a loan. The callers will claim to be calling on behalf of an attorney's office (name varies), the Dept. of Law and Investigation, ACS, or other similar combinations below:

United Legal Processing Division
Midline Marketing
Crime Monitoring Services
Monetary Crime Division
U.S. National Bank
Attorney General’s Office (usually in California)
American Legal Services
Affidavit Consolidation Services (ACS)

You will be threatened with arrest, a costly trial and possibly worse. In no shape, way or form can you be arrested for non-payment on a consumer debt. Do not believe these threats, as they are without merit and cannot be carried out in the manner they allege.

Who are they?

In the past when pressed by law enforcement for an address, the callers have provided the following information:

David Morgan and Associates
Morgan & Associates
Morgan Associates
954-727-8481
1155 Northwest 85th Street
Wintergarden, Florida 33150
(Address is likely invalid)

The collector's MO matches a once legit collections agency called Ellis Crosby & Associates. Here are some links on them:

They have been previously fined over $1.3 million for various violations. They have been known to use phone banks in India to make their calls, which more or less coincides with the difficult to understand accent many of us detect when

I received a call in the same fashion as all of those above. About 6 months ago I had this happen from who I think to be the same people but with different #'s. I reported it all and never heard anything more. PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY! This is a complete scam and who knows what that money is used for!

I am an attorney in NYC. Numerous people have been calling me from around the country saying that someone with an Indian accent is calling from this number and giving our law firm's name. He claims that money is owed and that they would be going to jail if they dont pay back. I have reported this to FBI but they claim that there is nothing they can do because it is international and people from outside the country have tapped into this number. Luckily most people realize its a scam but I just got off the phone with someone who sent them $1200.

I got a phone call from a guy with an indian accent. He said that I would be going to jail for a payday loan that I did not pay back. he had a threatening tone. Can someone in authority stop this guy. he sounds dangerous, and how did he get my number.

Got a phone call from a guy with an indian accent. He said that I would be going to jail for a payday loan that I did not pay back. I told him I did not know what he was talking about. I asked him when I did this and he told me between 2009 and 2011. I told him to be more specific. I asked him what the name of the company was and he said it was USA Cash Advance. Which I don't even recognize at all. (Store front or internet) He basically made me feel like a criminal. He told me that I would be arrested tomorrow and that my aunt would be arrested too. My mom called them back and cussed him out , told him that this was a motherf&$%#ing scam and not to be harrassing me, told him that she would get him for harrassment , and that the call was being recorded, and then he hung up on her. Then my mom called back again and got a lady and she told my mom that my account was with Sonic Advance. A totally different company. And my mom said well give me some account numbers or something and she gave her my checking account number which was wrong and my routing number which was wrong. How could they possibly be going to the sherriff with this information if its completely false. Its a total scam . And they prey on people who innocently put their info on these sites as a means to get money for themselves. Its sad.

I received a phone call from Christine and Mark both with heavy accents....I was told that it was an attorney contacting me aobut fraud from a company that they would not tell me an exact name. They just gave the name of US Cash advance, but would not tell me the exact name of the company...they would not give me any dates, and said that I borrowed the money betwen 2009 and 2011....that is lie, i might be broke, but i do not steal nor commit fraud. I think that it is immoral that people prey on those who are in need. I cannot wait when the time comes that no one has to borrow money and there are not vultures out there who streal your personal information and completely violate innocent people.

Got a phone call today from 347-753-8207. Heavily accented man ("Attorney Alex Rogers")told me that tomorrow I was going to be under arrest for money laundering and he "wished me luck." However, if I agree to "pay back the money I stole today, directly from my checking account" he would personally stop the arrest warrant.

Want to know what Alex doesn't like? When you call him back about 25 times in a row and ask for his ABA number and in what states he is allowed to practice law. Nor does he like it when you tell him that you are recording the call. Alex will eventually answer the phone this way:
"This. Is. The. Last. Time. I. Will. Tell. You. Don't. Call. This. Number!"
After that, Alex just picks up the phone and hangs it up when he sees my number on caller id.

Calling from Samuel Gregory Law offices letting me know that I will be arrested by the local police unless I settle up with Cash Advance USA for a online pay day loan that I had taken out which I have never done.
I was either hung-up on or disconnected and so I nhit redial and called them back, I asked for their clients telephone number and was told that they could not provide me that information because they were representing them but that I could get the number myself. I started doing a seach for the Lawyer then came across every call and found their number listed at least three times.
