Just got called stating I just won 100,000 Air Miles points. All I had to do is press "1". Luckily, I didn't. I did a reverse lookup on the internet and found this page! Thank you for posting on here! It's very informative!

phishing scam - "You have won... bla bla bla" Then they ask for your credit card. So what did I win? The opportunity to be ripped off I guess.

Told to press 1 for my 100,000 free air miles. Pressed 1 before I thought about it then disconnected. Terrified that someone was hijacking my cell # I called Telus and reported it. Does anyone know what it is that they are getting away with.

Got a call from them today on my celphone with the 100,000 AMs "win". Then someone live came on the phone and said she was Crystal from Cancun. W/o another word about the airmiles, she went on to tell me I was eligible (I believe that's the word she used) for a "Promotional Vacation". Been there, heard that one too many times. Besides I do some contesting and I used to practice law so, (I've even won a trip), just last year and I know that as soon as you have to pay anything to get your win in a contest, it's not a legal 'contest'. Whenever I get a call about 'winning' a trip that's the first question I ask, how much is it going to cost me? By the time she told me (it was $698US for a trip to Cancun AND one to Orlando) I knew right away it was a scam (as are probably most of these 'Promotional Vacation' things). Nobody called back....yet...lol. Doesn't matter, I'll know that number if I see it again, they'll be wasting their time dialing my number. She did give me a website though, however I haven't checked it out yet; it's apltly number www.cancuncalling.com.
