I receive these calls from time to time. It is PNC calling about their services and can they offer you anything. Or would youlike to meet wiht someone etc. It is a service sales call but is not a scam call. SPAM yes....SCAM no...

Here's something you all can try if they call you again.... If you see their phone number on your Caller ID, pick up the phone and in your deepest, most commanding and professional voice say the following.... "STATE POLICE. WHAT IS YOUR EMERGENCY?" They will do one of two things.... They will either quickly hang up OR continue with the Scam as if they didn't even hear what you said just a second ago. If this happens, REPEAT the words and tell them that they are calling an EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBER, you have their REAL phone number and you will be issuing a warrant. This has ALWAYS worked for me to keep these scammers from calling back. Unfortunately, there are other scammers who will call, so just repeat this to them as well.

Don't bother filing a complaint with the Do Not Call service. I have been reporting the same phone numbers to them over and over and over again for several years and they do NOTHING about it. DoNotCall.gov is absolutely WORTHLESS and scamming tax payers out of their hard-earned money to stay open.

I called PNC with a question about their loan rates and 20 minutes later the scam calls started. My caller ID showed the calls were from PNC Bank! Don’t bank with them!

I work at PNC, and this is a legitimate back office that the company uses to ensure its clients have up to date accounts. I will say that the centers we use are would be open to listening to your complaints of rudeness, or unprofessionalism. Call into customer service and talk about it.

The caller ID said PNC & the caller, who didn't sound very professional, identified herself as calling from PNC & thanked me for being a loyal PNC customer. I could tell something was off & only confirmed my first name to her. She said that they wanted me to come in to my local branch and basically just go over things with me. I don't really understand what the scam was, unless they planned to ask me for account info, but I guessed that it was not really PNC Bank, so I just said I was up-to-date with all of my accounts and no thank you. I should have just given them a bunch of bad info!

I found two of these phone calls stored on my caller ID on 12/7 & 12/8, from PNC. a) I have VOIP service with Verizon, and set up Nomorobo (nomorobo.com) on my account, to stop all the robo-calls. Works great, btw. Nomorobo hangs up robo-calls on the 2nd ring. After getting hung-up on repeatedly, the scammers eventually remove my number - the computers doing the auto-dialing get a message that the number isn't valid and they delete it. If your landline is VOIP, consider using Nomorobo. It's free. You can also buy a Nomorobo app for your smart phone.

b) I have PNC, I have 1 acct, a checking. Had a savings & closed it, don't have/want a cc. I also rely on paratransit for trips. I'm not going to be able to come in to any branch for a review I neither want nor need. It's $10 round-trip just for the transportation. c) If this really is PNC, it's on Nomorobo's robo-call list, as both calls were immediately disconnected by Nomorobo after the 1st ring. Nomorobo isn't supposed to have legitimate numbers on it's list. It WILL have a genuine number if the number is a spoof, as Nomorobo is able to find the real, actual number the spoofers use.

For some reason, Nomorobo is treating this number as a robo-call. I haven't had any additional calls since those 2, so apparently the string of data that Nomorobo sends to the robo-dialer, has resulted in my number being removed, as typically happens after 2 robo-calls. Nomorobo uses Simultaneous Ring, both your VOIP phone & the Nomorobo computer receive your calls. Your legitimate calls continue to ring on your VOIP phone, while Nomorobo's computer automatically hangs-up robo-calls/auto-dialed calls coming from numbers stored in it's system identified as spoof/scam numbers. It also sends a string of code that auto-deletes your number from the auto-dialer. Nomorobo is also updated constantly.

I answered b/c it said PNC Bank & we all have PNC accounts in the family. However, noone responded to my 2 or 3 "hello's". I then called PNC directly & although she of course couldn't say anything about my sons' accounts, she did say she couldn't find that number in their system when I gave it to her.
