FWIW, the area code of an call doesn't mean anything. Anyone with the right equipment is able to use any phone number they like, including completely fictitious ones. Most telemarketers have this equipment.

Called me repeated and leave a message about reducing my credit card rate.

this person said they can reduce my credit rate when i said i didnt have a card they threaten saying why u gotta be like the other bitches and they where coming to my house lol i said ok come down honest i hope they show i do not mind if they do he said i will shit his shoe for weeks thats ok the bullet i put in him will make his people think twice. scamers get a job yea you knew my name its a listed number any one with half a brain can know a name listed with a number

This call is from a machine which promises to lower my credit card interest rates. I don't have a credit card, but it tells you to press 9 to speak to someone about lowering your interest rates. When I spoke to a "Dana", she asked if I've pressed 9, and I answered yes. She then starts to rattle off the script at a rapid rate, and it took me a few shouted "DANA!"'s to get her to stop speaking. I apologized for interrupting her and told her I was on the DO NOT CALL list and before I could say please take me off of your call list, she hung up the phone.

I get this call all the time from different numbers. It's obviously from a company that has no scruples about obeying the law. Why would I possibly want to do business with them?
