Got this call this morning. It was a telemarketer for Magic Jack Phones. Tried calling back and was told by a recording the number was yet in use.

They are phishing for live phone numbers to sell. The "political survey questions" are a ruse.

Your best bet is to block them, if you have call blocking, or, better yet, use YouMail (FREE) to forward them to a "disconnected" message. You can even use wildcards for blocks of numbers (e.g., this same caller comes in on any number between 7950 thru 7957, and I can shunt them all to a "disconnect" recording in 1 step). Can't do that with Comcast $40/month DV!
YouMail is free, and their service is awesome, from my personal experience. Their profit comes from add-on services that you can choose to subscribe to (or not). Here's a link:

They call here about twice a day, VIRGINIA at 571-308-7951. I hang up, and they do not leave a message. I checked my Vonage records, and there are 6 calls reported in the last week.

It's a survey call, this company uses a computer to make the calls, they can't hang up without getting a manager to disconnect, usually takes about five minutes for them to do it, they get paid per call keep asking them questions until they are able to disconnect, no need to be politically correct or watch your language, they called you! They get paid by the call, not by the hour. It can be lots of fun and a nice way to get even.

Always calls, at least once a day. I have called ID and do not regonize the number so we never answer and they never leave a message! Very annoying!

571-308-7951. Daily. They refused to disclose their company or address. I badgered this guy for a while and all I got out of him was that they are a "teleservice" polling for "Institute of Voter Attitudes for the state of Kentucky". He would not give a number, or address, he would only give his name. I'll include that too, Barry Rogers. But it's probably a stage name.

I placed a complaint with KY Atty General and just got a response. They did an investiation on this number and stated that it is "Free Enterprise Institute, Inc." and they are exempt from the do not call list because "Monetary donations on behalf of charitable or non-profit organizations are exempte from state and federal do not call laws." Kinda funny that the person I spoke with identified themelves as "Institute of Voter Attitudes for the State of Kentucky". And they did not state they were seeking donations for charitable and non-profit. I wonder how much money "Free Enterprise Institute, Inc." gets in commission of monetary donations for charitable/non-profit organizations get to call on their behalf?

Anyway, file a written complaint with your Attorney General and this organization will be forced to put your number on the DNC list. Feel free to quote my information.

Institute for voter Apathy was the organization they used when they called me in Montana about 4 survey questions. This must be a front for another organization. same 571 number
