I received a phone call pretty much the same. Preferred customer, don't renew through anyone else. Then he had me talk to his supervisor for me to insure that he was nice to me. The supervisor said I'm locked in for 60 months on a magazine. (I only receive one magazine and I just renewed it in Feb. for 1 year) One came today and it says that it expires in April 2012. I told him that. He said I must have subscribed to the same magazine through 2 different companies. I asked him why I had not been receiving duplicate copies then? No real answer. He said they have my credit card number and that they have a recording of me on the phone committing to 60 months! I never do renewals over the phone! He said he would send me the documentation. He also said, lack of payment would result in him sending "my file" to another department. I told him that when I received the information that I would call and speak to a supervisor. He said he was the supervisor! I tried to call back but it just rang and rang. Yes, scam. I guess he thought I would get so frazzled that I would give him my credit card number! My mama didn't raise no fool!
Calls from this number claim you have ordered magazines or something and insist they have your credit card no. on file for the charges. While I did not give her the opportunity to "ask" me to verify my card no. ( it appears others have not either), I suspect this is a credit card scam. The female will not give her name nor the name of her company, and others have been told her manager will return phone calls, it appears no one ever does.
