Is someone trying to collect on a ten year old debt? Ignore them! The statute of limitations ran out six years ago, and the claim has vanished from your credit report. Don't be scared by threats of litigation and fake docket numbers. Do not be alarmed by calls made to relatives, neighbors, or past past phone numbers and addresses. If they had the ability to sue you, it already would have happened many years ago without the need for harassing calls or empty threats. They will try to trick you into making a small payment, but that will turn the obsolete claim into a new legitimate problem. Give them nothing, and they will have no legal grounds to pursue the matter. If you pay them anything, then they have the right to sue you for the full amount plus court costs. Ignore them, do nothing, and laugh at their attempts to fool you. They will eventually go away.

Said it wasn't a collection call, but that I owed money from 2007, but I never had an account with the now out of business company. lay call was harassing and they wanted my dispute about the case in a hand written letter. All they had about me was my name and the last four of my social security number, and refused to give me any other information on the account in question. The caller got defensive with me one I told them they were calling a number on a no call list and would not let me talk to them and ended the call after I frustratingly tried to tell them to stop calling and that I was going to report them.

Showed up as .b Fbi on caller ID. It appears to be a collection agency.

Portfolio recovery apparently, bottom-feeder scumbags, they've got the wrong # here & won't stop calling every week. Ignore them, they buy up old debt I guess for pennies on the dollar & try & scare people into paying them, I don't owe Them Anything. F Them! They also have other reps. from different #'s & area codes like 757 for example. Don't entertain them with an answer, just report them here & elsewhere like fcc & online.
