got letter and called this number. Letter gave application number of someone who applied for credit card. 25014061124-----.
Can someone do something about these people. every time they tried to get my ssn ect I said you should already have this.. you tell me..

got letter claiming I applied for a discover card... I have no credit cards, I wouldn't give them anything but the application number they gave me. In fact insinulated I was law enforcement. When they answer they say your voice is also being recorded. So they may use this to verify you applied by rewording your words. I refused to give them dob, ssn and insisted they tell me if someone applied. They refused. Be careful. They could still try to use this against me since they have my voice.
800-347-3072 IS A WIRE FRAUD SCAM.
800-347-3072 is a sophisticated scam. It's NOT Discover. It may also be part of a law enforcement attempt to pair a person with a phone number iot begin a stingray type monitoring. lt verifies the name with the number which can then be followed with tools generally supporting stingray applications like 'Fog Reveal', 'ZetX', 'Callyo', 'Storm Dragon' etc..... Cell site simulators are used to spy on mobile phones for investigations. These investigations can be for suspected criminal activity, for threat analysis, for communicating with other cell phones or internet sites that are of interest to law enforcement. They DO NOT need probable cause or any legal standard to employ these types of electronic monitoring activities, it can be just a hunch or your electronic-phone comms crossing with a person-of-intererst or talk of any activity (protests, financial support for organizations, bank transfers, even comments on news or opinions in media - please see how investigations began against Catholics and parents engaging school boards. My advise stay away from anything the elicits your cell phone number that is not part of your regular communications regime.
They actually sent a very realistic letter alerting us to an attempt to apply for a Discover credit card with our name and SS#. It instructed us to call this number if we did not apply. AS we already have Discover cards and know the right number we google searched this number and found this site. I cannot believe they are risking federal charges of MAIL FRAUD. Discover is aware not too interested it seems.
1️⃣ caller said that he's with Discover Card and another said that he is with Social Security Admin. I checked with SSA and there's no new information or need to call me.
