I got a call, with a south Asican accent, claiming that I have a citi credit card with illegal transactions.

The call started off as sounding legitimate --- an automated professional female voice, no accent, advising my Citibank credit card had been charged $1498.00, Citibank found this charge to be suspicious, press 1 for connection to Citibank's fraud department if I don't recognize this charge. Because I have a Citibank credit card and I don't recognize this charge, I pressed 1. I was immediately connected to a man with a very thick Indian accent and I knew right then and there this was a scam call. I asked him who made the charge, he said it was done in Indonesia. I asked him for his phone # so that I could call him back after I had checked my Citibank account online. He refused to give me his phone # - no surprise, I knew he wouldn't - he said there wasn't time for me to check my account online --- further evidence he's a scammer and not with Citibank's fraud department. I cursed him out, then slammed down the phone. Then I checked my account and - no surprise - there's no $1498.00 charge posted to it. My next step is to call the real Citibank and report these people --- although I doubt it will do any good because many people before me here have reported them to Citibank and the scam calls are still happening.

Same number. Didn't even pick up. But they left a message that was cut off but started with, "$1498 was withdrawn from your account...", which confirmed my suspicions.

First they sent a text : "CitiBank N.A. FRAUD Early warning : Did you attempt $2500.00 Zelle Transfer to Bank of America. If valid reply YES, if fraud NO. To opt out stop. They then called. Stated the same thing in the text message. They asked if I had recently set up an Affirm account. I stated no. They then proceeded to send 4 or 5 text messages about an Affirm account being opened and credit approval for $860. The caller stated that they will get me to an agent and get the Affirm account closed and repeat about the charges on my CitiBank. I told him that I do not have a CitiBank account of any kind. Never did. He then started talking about the Affirm account and having me hold the line while he transfers me to a colleague to complete the cancellation of the Affirm account. I keep getting text with credit approval for RealReal In-Store with a credit limit of $860 and now $1701.00.

Number 800-374-9700 is a scam call, do not press #1, block this number.
The scammers have called my cell and home number 37 times. If you have a Citi card, hang-up, go to your Citi bank and file a report. Do not provide details.

My mom got a call saying it was Citibank credit card and there was a possible problem with a charge, however, she does not have such a credit card.

December 8, 2021. Also, $1498 charge in Indonesia, press 1, get to an Indian voice. He even said to google the 800-374-9700 to see that it is a legit Citi number. Too confusing to be real.

JUST CALLED AND SAID MY COIN BASE ACCOUNT WAS COMPRIMSED AND THAT SOMEONE TRIED TO TRANSFER $2000...I DON'T EVEN HAVE A COIN BASE ACCOUNT. DUMB BASTARDS!

Definite SCAM caller!!! Said "CitiCard Fraud Dept." saying a large charge just made. Asking for social security number, account number, etc. I called number on back of my card and told me no such charge made!!!

Got a call said someone charged $1000 on my citi card. An indian accent 'agent' started to ask question. After I said 'I dont have an account w you', she immediately hung up

PLEASE READ!! My experience was not the same. In fact, it's more scary because this is the first time "ive been had" by a scammer. On NOVEMBER 22, 2021 I logged into my CITI account on my desktop computer, my passwords are current and saved. When I proceeded to log in, a message in font red color appeared that my password was incorrect and I was prompted to try to log in again. Then another message appeared ' ACCESS BLOCKED For security reasons, we cannot allow you to proceed. If you require assistance, call Online Customer Service at 1-800-374-9700 [TTY 1-800- 888-0002] and mention Error Code MFA." Then there was navy blue box with the word "OK" in it. I have had my mail stolen twice in the last 30 days and I have frozen my credit report and cards but one did slip through the cracks and so I thought this was another theft by card. So, I called the number and I was prompted to enter my card or SS# to verify my account. I was too lazy to pull my card out so I entered my SS#. Then the automation call proceeded to say that my SS# was entered incorrectly and to enter the CC#. This is when the RED flag was raised and I knew I was being scammed. I hung up and called the number on the back of my card and reported it to the fraud department. They refreshed my account and I had to register all over again. New password, username and security questions. I'm hoping, praying and crossing my finger that my SS# was not compromised :( When I googled this number, this site had the most recent complaints. The only difference is, is that they did not call me. I called them Somehow they hacked my log in and spammed me for more to "verify" more information.
