This is a call from a company called "Long Distance of America" that claims to have been contracted by Verizon to lower the cost of long distance services. They are not working for Verizon, this is a lie they tell people to make themselves seem legitimate. They are in fact telemarketers who want you to switch you long distance service to LDA but they don't tell you that. They instead try to say that they are working for Verizon and they need to connect you to someone to lower the cost of your long distance service "in accordance with FCC regulations" and that when you speak to this person you are not to ask any questions and just answer yes to everything they ask. This is a total scam and fraudulent misrepresentation that should be stopped. Thankfully I investigated the company before agreeing to anything. I contacted Verizon and they said that LDA in no way works for them.
