I called Cox communications, they verified this number is NOT in their system

Calls once a week claiming Cox needs to send someone to my house to make adjustments to services. I get no email or regular mail suggesting, so I know it has to be scammer.

It keeps calling about some account which I don't have.

I have recently received a few of these calls on my cell. I do not have my cell associated to my Cox account.
Spoke to a Cox rep and they searched my cell # and found that it was on another account that was not mine. So either a number was transposed or someone gave my number as theirs. The Cox rep called my cell to verify it was me who answered and that it was my phone. They have removed this number from the other account.

Left a message on my machine, claiming to be Cox and having need to speak with me regarding my services with them.
I called Cox using a contact number for customer service, and was told they had no reason to call me whatsoever. The customer service agent doubted the validity of the call, upon hearing the caller ID read "800 Service" and not "Cox Communications" as it would if Cox calls you. She said not to give any info to the caller, and suggested to deal with Cox via their website, or use the number on their site to contact them.
