This is a legit alarm monitoring company. They provide monitor/dispatch services for many companies. In my case, I have Front Point security.
If they call you, it is because they have your number listed as a contact on someone's account. If you don't know anything about that, perhaps a family member, friend, or neighbor added you as an alternate contact in case they could not be reached about alarm activity on their system.
The password/pin they ask for is the code word that anyone should have to prove their identify over the phone to get any additional information or cancel the alarms. IT IS NOT THE ALARM PANEL CODE.
If you get a an unexpected call from this place, it is not their fault, it is the fault of the person who added your info to their account, that is the only way they would have your number. If you cannot provide a password, the worst that happens is they dispatch police or fire to the monitored address on the account. A little embarrassment and maybe small false alarm fine for the person who didn't tell you to be expecting any alarm calls.
SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a legit call. Rapid Response Monitoring Service mprovide monitoring services for several home alarm service companies, including mine. Don ' t be fool. If they ask you for a "code" is not your alarm pin; is a security code that ALL your contact persons should know to prove your identity in an emergency at your home or your relatives home!
Umm, folks, I hate scam calls as much as anyone, but this is no scam. It was my alarm monitoring company calling because my alarm was going off. My side door somehow came open and triggered the alarm. If you have a home burglar/fire/co2 alarm, you might consider unblocking this number.
