Collection agency called me about someone else's (my old roommate - 1 year ago) telus cell phone debt - from this number
They kept calling at all hours (VM or silence) until I called them back at the number they called me 1 8667139 460
A lady pick the phone up and asked for my phone number.
She had one of my old addresses on file
I explained the situation and she huffed.
She just asked that I try get my old roommate to call them back.
Not sure if they will keep calling...or if this will affect *MY* credit score because my phone number and address are on file. (I've worked for a bank before and this may be possible)


Update.
The collection agency called again 37 minutes later. I picked up the line and there was silence and then it disconnected.

I called them back. She said that it takes 2 business days to be removed from the dialing list.
The silence is because it is a computer that dials us.
She didnt have any time for me.

Update
9:08am the same day - 33 minutes later I received a third call. When I picked up I got a recorded message saying: "This is an urgent matter, press 1 to speak to a representative"
I pressed "1" and this is how the call went

Lady "Hello, can I have your phone number please"
Me: "My number is (xxx) xxx-xxxx"
Lady: "I have already spoken to you whay are your calling me !" (in an angry tone)
Me: "I'm not calling you, you called me !"
Lady:

end of call

This is all on Christmas eve!

please get them to stop calling
