I called them back. They called my work and threatened the same thing. I spoke to Roger Lewis. Asked if I could provide valid contact information. He claimed I owed a debt of $451 from 2005 for which I have proof that was paid in full. He refused to provide me written verification of the debt and told me if I did not pay "good luck in court." I called back again to ask for his supervisor. I was hung up on and now my actual phone number is blocked. You need to report the to the FTC and your state atty office.
Calling for the "courts"
A friend who lives blocks away from me and has no other connection to me got a call from this # tonight. Person said they were looking for me and that I had a date to appear in court or a warrant for my arrest would be issued. They then disclosed personal information about me to someone who wasn't me. Two laws were broken here, because stating that I could be arrested for owing some sort of debt is harrassment and against the law.

So here's a retaliation tactic:
Go to a PUBLIC PAY PHONE and call their 866 or 877 or 800 number. When they answer, hang up and call again. There is no charge for a toll free call so you keep getting your quarter back. Sometimes, just stay on the line and don't say anything. It's costing THEM when they answer the phone. Or, ask for the SHERIFF, or ask them if they like Cheerios. Just use up their time. There are LOTS of numbers for these schmucks. Call ALL of them. Here are a few:
1-877-571-5190
1-877-696-8121
1-877-401-6202

THESE NUMBERS ARE ALL THE SAME GROUP GOING UNDER DIFFERENT CORPORATE NAMES. Plus, see other posts for even more numbers.
The bad part of this is that some of these people are just trying to make a living like everyone else. It's the skuzzy owners that have come up with this way of doing business. However, the way to get back is through their pocketbooks and IF enough people call multiple times on their Toll Free numbers, a dent can be made.
I didn't get the name but they were looking for my son who is 40 years old and lives in another state. They have called 3 times now and frankly I'm tired of it. I talked to them the first two times and refused to answer the phone on the 3rd call. The first time they called they told me that a process server had all ready been to my house and that I was lying on the whereabouts of my son. I then told them had they really been and tried to process serve us I wouldn't be talking to them in the first place. The fella basically called me a liar and said that my son still lived with us. He left home over 20 years ago so anything he does is really none of our business. We don't handle his bills and he doesn't handle ours. If they call again I will report them to the Attorney Generals Office here in ND....End of story.
