I have a debt with this company. All off the information was valid. I contacted the ACA and the NYSCA as well as the AG of NY. This company is registerd and Licensed? I spoke with a Mrs. Green an paid off my debt. They seemed fair. Maybe the poeple complaining should take a step back and try to fix their credit instead of evade their obligations.

Called and told me to call them by 4:00pm or they would file for a civil suit in the county I reside in. Explained that they were a law firm that bought out a debt from "western sky" financial. Stated I took out a loan with them in 2011. They would not agree to send me any paperwork showing what the amount was, my signature, IP address, etc. They then proceeded to get very rude. The man on the phone that left the message stated his name was "Mr. Mullen". When he left me the message he called from 585-563-9981. I explained I didn't know what he was talking about and could not know until I saw it in writing. He kept on wanting to send it via email...since that method is electronic. I said no. I also explained to him that to my knowledge Payday loans are not legal in NC. He then stated again that I would receive a civil summons at work (another scare tactic). I told him that would not happen. At that point, he got even more angry and told me "good luck" and hung up on me. Bill collectors are rotten people... dont ever pay them for stuff like this...particularly if you do not even know what exactly it is.
Your not supposed to take out pay day loans in N.C. it is against the law. If you took one out on the internet and checked the box that asks you if you are not a resident of N.C. and you checked yes you are not a resident. Then well guess what? You are committing fraud and lying. You are liable to go to jail or pay an outstanding fine. I'm sorry but your nothing but a thief and liar. Pay your bills.
The NY State Office of the Attorney General in Buffalo, NY has a full blown investigation against UNIFIED PORTFOLIO SERVICING GROUP AND GREGORY CIPRESSI located at 1885 HARLEM RD., CHEEKTOWAGA, NY.
There are over 50 recorded calls from debt collectors allegedly making statements and threats of arrest, criminal investigation, warrants, process servers, etc. Serious FDCPA violations. Also sending VERIFICATION OF EMPLOYMENT to various states which prohibit such actions. THANKS PAMELA TAMOL FOR PROVIDING THESE DOCUMENTS.
There are also financial records (credit card transaction reports and account snapshots) which reflect that debt collectors are charging EXCESSIVE amounts over the balance actually owed to offshore payday loan lenders under the direction of GREGORY CIPRESSI. THIS IS FRAUD. This is an economic crime. The "overage" accounts have been captured and submitted as exhibits for criminal investigation. This is an all out expose of this collection agency. To date, we have gathered 9 statements from former employees of this collection agency and several more are coming forward.
The FBI, FTC, NY AG, ACA, IRS and other government agencies are now involved. The overwhelming evidence was meticulously prepared. All states who hold interest in such where a collections license was issued to this collection agency authorizing this office to collect in such states have also been put on notice.
Several consumers (those of which are archived) have also been put on notice to charge-back/reverse all credit card transactions with this collection agency.
We are also communicating with BUDD HIBBS and DATELINE NBC for a segment/investigation of this collection agency. More to come. Stay posted.
