I didn't receive a call from them but I did receive a letter from them about some Cares Act social security tax thing. I called the official IRS number to see if that letter was legit and if the number was legit. They weren't sure what the letter was about but the number is legit. She told me it was the IRS small business department number.
Leaves a recording to call back by the end of business day along with a reference number. Did not call or give them any info. Reported to local police department as well as other agencies such as the IRS. I cannot believe this BS is still being allowed to scam people. Some entity needs to shut them down! They are messing with people's livelihood. Should be prosecuted!!!!!!!!
it is NOT the IRS.. if it were, you would get a certified letter and the caller ID would not be "restricted"
Robo call said " I must call IRS by end of business day." 8am to 8pm left a case number. It came as a no ID number, so I let it go to vm they called 2 times and 2 messages. It sound professional but the IRS sends letters out. To your last tax address. Don't call back. They are just setting back waiting to scare you out of you SS # and Credit card number!
yes very much a SCAM...IRS has a bulletin warning people about these people. I called back, gave a false name, false social false address and guess what they verified my FALSE information and said I owe 1200.00 and of course they would be happy to have me pay by debit card LMAO!!!
