These people called my 87 year old mother's home and only number, asking for her.
I asked who was calling, and he said he was from American Leisure Group. I asked what this was in regards to, and then he asked if I was my mother. I said, no, but that he wasn't going to speak with her till I knew what it was about, and he said that she knew.
I said that she was sitting right across from me, but that he wasn't going to speak with her, and he then said that he'd just call her back on her other number that she provided.
Which, she doesn't have any other number except the one he called which I answered.
I called the number on the caller ID back from my cell phone, and of course it wasn't a valid number.
I then looked up American Leisure Group to find MULTIPLE sites regarding their scams. I cannot understand how the American govt doesn't shut them down.
"American Leisure Group" so called "company" tried so hard to scam me over the phone saying I won over $5,000 in vacations to anywhere I want and $2,000 in gift card and all I have to do is void a check as my receipt when I receive my "package" (which makes no sense) and asks me to cover my $595 portion to cover the whole thing, for the gift which I apparently "mailed in my entry" over 3 months ago and that's why they called me haha (really you don't think I wouldn't remember mailing something when I rarely every mail?). Then they go on to say since it's over checking and not cash and its traceable, it's safe because BOA can check the company. What a bunch of bull. Didn't fall for it. Hope you guys didn't get this call and fall for it either!
It's obviously a scam. People are getting real creative these days with their scams.
I got a call and decided to answer because the 949 was Irvine Ca. and even though I knew someone there if it wasn't anyone I knew I was going to play the game. Said it was American Leisure Group or ALG and said I had won a $50
Got a call today 5/82015. Call came from a San Antonio number (210-714-3866). I was informed that I had an offer for a cruise on Carnival Cruises, and all I had to pay was the registration fees which consisted of $595. Then I had 24 months to decide when I wanted to go on this cruise. At first it was a foreign lady then a man named Charley Nash. I asked him where he was located, he said Lake Mary, Fla. It sounded good at first but after doing research I found no listing for him in Lake Mary, Fla., and why was he calling me from San Antonio, Texas. Needless to say its a freaking scam. Oh yeah his call back number was 888-528-8567. Its amazing what these people will do to get your money, and of course they involve the money hungry foreigners.
