The number is legitimate. I logged into my CITI account, and indeed, there was an 'alert' on one of my accounts. I called the CITI number (on the back of the card itself) and they confirmed it.

12/31/18: I attempted ordering online yesterday but the order was cancelled due to not be accepted by my c.c. company. This morning I received a call from this number, showing up as "Citi" on caller I.D. They asked if I had placed an order from _______. They stopped it because the charge came through from Iran! They are replacing my card. I don't understand why an order would go through Iran to Ireland. Perhaps it was intercepted. No more ordering online for me. I'm glad they are alert to this. Never had it happen before.

It seems to be legit number. I ordered replacement for lost citi card. Once it came, I received this call to verify even though i had already activated.
if you call back this number, you'd get brief message says "contact 800 number".

This (904) 954-1207 (Florida Number) number is legitimate. I received a call from them, and a message was left on my cell phone voicemail, stating they were LL Bean Customer Protection and there was potentially fraudulent activity on my account. I was asked to call an 877 number that I didn't recognize. I logged onto my Citi Bank account via the link on the LLBean website, and there was a banner message to call Citi Bank's Customer Service number, which matched the number on the back of my Citi Bank credit card. Customer Service explained that the 904 number is legitimate and it is the location of Citi Bank's Fraudulent Department. They asked me for the reference number that was given to me in the voicemail, and the numbers matched. Citi Bank Customer service took the necessary action to clear the fraudulent activity flag. To be safe, in the future, I will continue to always call the number on the back of my credit card, should I receive another such call...just in-case. :)

Called me a left a voicemail, advising they were Citibank and that they flagged an attempt with someone trying to use my information to open a MasterCard line of credit.

I called Citi back on their website listed number and NOT the number in the voicemail, and they could find no record of calling me or any fraudulent activity. Sounds like a phishing call to me...

People say they are Citizens. Like Citi Bank. Want your entire Credit Card number and Social along with security code on the back. I gave the the last four of each and they said they couldn't find my account. They even have reports online that say the numbers are correct.

I didn't answer the call and I waited for voicemail. They left no voicemail. I searched the internet and found information , from other people who received messages from this phone number at www.800notes.com saying that this is a scam because they're asking you to call back with your credit card number etc. That doesn't sound legitimate.
