The caller mumbled his name and said he saw my resume on Monster and wanted to talk to me. I have also been contacted by World Financial Group before. DON'T waste your time calling back -- this is a SCAM.
JO JO CANADA CALLED ME IN REFERENCE TO MY RESUME ON CAREER BUILDER. DID NOT TELL ME WHAT COMPANY HE WORKED FOR AND WHEN I CALLED HIM BACK I LEFT A MESSAGE ON A PHONE THAT ONLY ANSWERED JO JO CANADAS OFFICE. I THEN LOOKED HIM UP ON THIS SITE AND FOUND THAT HE IS MARKETING FOR WORLD FINANCIAL GROUP (I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED PRIOR FROM THE SAME COMPANY. I HAVE CHECKED THEM OUT AND YOU ARE IN SALES AND SELF EMPLOYEED, A PYRAMID SCHEME WHERE YOU GET YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY INVOLVED, COMMISSIONS ARE PAID TO YOU THRU THEIR SALES. They always seem to be looking over resumes on Career Builder, no other employment site have I had this type of response.
Called at 7:35P asking me to call him back same night to discuss my resume. Number has lots of hits on Google. Caller is farming Career Builder resume's. Various reports indicate it is some sort of insurance/financial networking business. Traces back to World Financial Group / AEGON, reported as multi-level marketing. No legitimate company conducts employment recruitment calls at night - and if they do, I don't want to work for them
This guy called me saying he saw my resume on CareerBuilder (it is on there, with my number, for LEGITIMATE employers to call me with LEGITIMATE job offers). Anyway, he would not tell me his company's name or the specific job position. I kept trying to ask for this information, and he ignored me and kept on talking. I told him I do not want any kind of sales job, which this most likely is. He said "That's fine" but kept on talking, not telling me any specifics on the position. He seemed angry that I kept trying to interrupt him ("Are you listening?!" he said in a ticked-off tone). He ended up asking me to go in for an interview tomorrow, but I said I need more details about this specific job - I don't want to waste my time. He still would not tell me anything! Frustrated, I told him I am not interested and hung up. I really wanted to tell him where he can stick his spiel, but I don't want to risk receiving any future harrassing calls from this guy or his "company." I then removed my phone number from my CareerBuilder profile. I also looked up his number online (first on Superpages.com and then on thedirectory.org as well as a Yahoo search). Turns out he was calling from a land line (a residential number) in Pomona, CA. He had said his company is in City of Industry. What a jerk.
