Must have been an automated dialer because they didn't recognize my answering machine greeting and just kept saying "Hello? Hello?". Googled the number and ended up here.
first call - 8pm Saturday. Stated my firewall was not preventing spam from being sent out from my e-mail account with Yahoo.
I told him I was not home and he said he would call back the next day. I checked my computers - fine - no problem with firewalls and no virus. Then I googled his phone number.
When he called back - heavy accent & much manufactured static on line. I informed him that he needed to google his phone number and spend his time productively instead of on his current scam as his activities were on the web for all to see.
Call from 914-579-8157 came in at 10:03 pm, all that showed up was it was from Pleasantville, NY. A man with a foreign accent asked to speak to my son, I asked who was calling and he said he was from PC Protection and something to do with my son's email address. I immediately hung up and Googled the number
it was a woman.. could not understand her..she said somthing like , my email address was @score.com and was causing trouble on the internet???? not sure about this...I had to keep asking her what she was saying.
Caller said I had emailed Yahoo support that my computer was freezing and needed help. He told me that I had a virus and he was with PC Protection. I told him that my computer was not freezing, I did not have a virus and had not contacted Yahoo support. He also said that I had PC Protection on my computer. I told hime that I did not, but I did have the best protection money can buy. He was very insistant that I had contacted Yahoo and that I had a virus. Finally, I told him that I was uncomfortable with his call since I did not know what he was talking about. He kept insisting that I had a problem. I hung up on him
