Just hung up with the idiot "Suzanne" from "Online PC Care". Freaking annoying! Theses people must think I was born yesterday. Out of the blue I get a call about some kind of malicious program that can automatically get downloaded to my computer with out my consent. I asked her what the program name was and she told me that it was so new that it had not been named yet. I knew she seemed a little fishy. I asked her what was in it for her company? She acted as if she was insulted and said that they are working with Windows to assist any consumers that may be using Windows. So I asked her how much money they were looking to make off this so called help, and again she acted insulted. Then I played along :

She litterally asked me to turn my head down and look at my key board.
Lookat the control key
look to the right and I'll see the 4 square windows key
press this key and the r key
Does any file names appear?
No? O.K. Type in eventwr.............

Of course I did not. Iquickly told her I will call her right back. Naturally when I immediately called the number on my caller ID, I get a message that 947-663-2176 is not a working number. Igoogled the company name and the computer entry she told meto type in and low and behold...........

starting to loop. I think you'll get the picture.

Called trying to get info from me, I was suspicious and let them know it. He hung up on me.
Middle eastern accent, male, talking about my computer system.

I hope no one is actually falling for this crap!

Received a call from a number 947-663-2176. When I answered the phone, all I got was some music in the background. No one answered so I just hung up. The only info I can find on the internet is it belongs to someone trying to con you.

These people installed without permission software I did not need. They called several times and it seems as though THEY hacked into my computer and caused it to malfunction. They would not identify themselves when asked, but mentioned Windows something but their accent was so thick I couldn't understand. The frightening thing is THEY KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT ME: NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, AND OBVIOUSLY HOW TO ACCESS MY COMPUTER. I have replaced my CPU with the CPU of a friend who is going to run a system restore to clear anything them might have installed. HOW DO I KEEP THEM OUT OF MY COMPUTER? I have AVAST as virus protection but no virus protection can bar hacking. ANYONE KNOW WHAT TO DO?

I doubt they got into your computer, they tried to scare you (and succeded). they want to get into your pocket book.

Hang up and report them. It is easy to randomly get your information, name address and phone number.

They called me to say that my computer was having issues and that they were hired by my computer company to fix it. He knew my name so they must be looking up listed telephone numbers. I said that if he knew that my computer needed to be fixed then he would know what kind of computer I had. He muttered that it was Windows. I said that everyone in the world without a MAC was using Windows and asked him which Windows I was using. He then said, so you have a MAC? I asked for his supervisor and he said that he was the supervisor. I asked for someone that spoke better English and said that I could tell that he was calling from India. He said that he was in India and was trying to help me. I could hear a bunch of other calls going on in the background and said that I knew it was a scam call and said that I was going to turn them in. He told me to go ahead and turn him in and then he hung up on me. Someone owns this number and whoever it is should get fined. Ijust don't know who to call to get them in trouble.

Microsoft said to register a complaint with the FTC, instead of the FCC. My BS meter went right off when these folks called, lol.

Contact FCC electronically and file Form 1088B. This is a scam call from India.

phone call.... east indian voice said something about my computer. I asked who he was calling for... he wants to help me with my computer... I said who are you... who are you calling... your computer is having trouble... I hung up
