They hope to suck someone in to give him the money and if you do guess what a black mark goes back on your credit report after you just cleared it. Do not talk to them do not engage them and for whatever you do don't give him any money.

Basically they prey on stupid people and older elderly people. They go after debt that has long been written off and if you do give them any money you reactivate your bad credit. Give them nothing! Don't even acknowledge the debt. Best not to even talk with them.
