339 Area Code

Called me claiming they were Social Security Disability advocates and that they noticed I hadn’t worked in awhile (I’m a stay at home mom) and they want to help me determine if I qualify for any disability benefits.

I simply and nicely told him, “no offense but I am not willing to discuss these things over the phone with a place that I did not call myself. Thanks anyway.” Then I hung up.

Not 2 seconds later my phone rang again without this number showing; it just said “scam likely.” Normally I don’t pic up those calls but I just had to know if this guy was actually calling me back: YUP!

He tried to convince me that he was on the up and up, but would not give me a website to look at. He did give me a number (customer service 877-977-3443.) to call so I could “verify” he was on the up and up. Um...huh? You want me to call the person in the cubicle sitting next to you to find out you’re trustworthy. Yeah no.

He’s called me again today but left no message.

Trying to sell auto insurance

I didn't answer the call but it shows as being from Weymouth, MA.

Regarding my Federal Student loans and recent changes. Said my code was 62462. I have no loans.

He supposedly left a message about future legal action, but the person does not identify himself, does not say which company or institution he is calling and does not mention the name of the person to whom the message is addressed.
