A phone call from a number that is not in service! Can't be anything but phishing and scam.

They called, I did not answer.
I called the number back, got a recording that the number is not in service.
This 99.99999% Guarantees it is a SCAM

Robocall with a spoofed number. They say that my social security number is blocked and I have to press 1 for more information. They call about twice per hour from different numbers.

Getting sick of this what kind of business stays open late I get calls all hours of the day and when I answer no one answers just hangs up

Called twice at 7:50 am. Identified themselves as Met Credit and ask me to return call today. I checked the number and the Whitepages said I could call with impunity. When I did, I got a recorded message that was spoken so quickly it was almost unintelligible. Then I was put on hold and left there.
