this number called me and an automated voice told me that my debit card was locked and to press 1 to be connected to the security dept to reactivate. This was on my answering machine as I had not answered when it called initially. I contacted my bank today who informed me that this number is a reported scam and not to give out any info, also be careful using debit cards at gas stations and online. Another number associated with this one appears to be 8768426749 which shows up on caller id as JAMAICA. Both of these numbers called me within 5 minutes of one another and both numbers were not able to be called back,

Same call to my cell. Must really score on some poor uninformed individuals. There oughta be a way to put this garbage to rest.

I have received two phone calls from this number. They do not leave a message. When I attempt to call the number back, I get a recording that state the number has been disconnected.

I wasn't able to get to my cell phone in time, and nor did they leave a message. But I looked up the phone number (203-322-9876) to see if it was someone I wanted (or needed) to call back. Guess I won't be calling them back anytime soon!! Thanks for the updates, everyone.

Received a call a few minutes ago claiming that my mastercard had been locked and to press 1 to speak to someone and unclock my card. I did not press any buttons and hung up. I called the number back and received an automated message saying that the number I dialed was not a working number. I looked online for information about the phone number and found this site. Apparently this number is associated with some scams. BEWARE!!

Called to say my Washington Mutual Debit Card had been locked. Washington Mutual is no longer a bank, I have no debit card with them.

Started getting automated messages from Washington Mutual about 2-3 times a day saying that my debit card is locked. I knew it was something fishy since Washington Mutual has been bought out by Chase and that I never even owned a Washington Mutual Debit card in the first place. The annoying part is that the calls keep coming to my cell phone at varies times of the day.... sometimes a 5am, sometimes at 11pm.... Anyone has any advice on how to block it or have it stop?

SCAM

Got the same scam phone call this morning. Washington Mutual doesn't exist any more. I don't know what kind of information they are looking for but clearly this is a scam.

Also got the same Robo call (computer generated voice) asking to unlock a Washington Mutual card (which of course no one has because the bank no longer exists. What's really annoying is the call arrived at 11:00 PM. Presumably, if you follow their directions at some point they will ask you for your debit card/credit card number. That's how the scam will attempt to get your money.

Got a call to my cell phone claiming to be a bank (Washington Mutual?) saying my card was locked. The recording was not clear and quite terse asking me to press 1 to "unlock" my card or 2 for something else that was hard to hear. I pressed nothing wanting to speak with someone and was never offered the possibility. I don't have a Washington Mutual card. Scam?

I got a call from this number, also saying that my Washington Mutual debit card was locked, and directing me to press 1 to be contacted with security. Well I never pushed no buttons and also found out my wife received the same call and she's no fool either.

I got a call from this number, also saying that my Washington Mutual debit card was stolen, and directing me to press 1 to correct the situation. Well, (1) I don't have a WaMu account and (2) WaMu no longer exists. This is a phishing scam. Reported to Chase (WaMu owner)

I just got a call, on my cell phone, from this number, with an automated message that "Washington Mutual Bank" had locked my credit card. Washington Mutual Bank is out of business, and bought out by Chase. This is a scam.

This caller called three times already this morning pretending to represent WesBanco (our bank). They want our debit card account number so that they can drain the account. Not happening here scam-holes. It's easy to see how trusting older folks would fall for this type of scam though.
We hope that the feds come down hard on these type of scam artist. The time has come for America to stop pussiefooting around with criminals and to start terminating them by whatever force they deem necessary up to and hopefully including deadly force. If the sissy lawyers and civil liberties unions dont like this then they could move out of the USA nad go somewhere where their views are accepted, though I doubt that that place actually exist anywhere.

Received a call @ 3:30am on my cell phone. Did not answer and no message left. Looking at all the other complaints, this is obviously a scam. Beware!!!
