They call from several day fferent numbers. Says it is a personal matter. Same person Shawna. On a different number claims to have a debt that I have already settled and is not on my credit report anymore.

They call at least four times a day and never leave a message. I tried to call the number back with no results. This has been going on for over two months now.

SET THEM UP! Do not block there numerous phony call numbers. Instead, document them in some way. Then, contact your local state's lawyers who specialize in Debt Collector Harassment. Portfolio Recovery Associates is among the most venomous, being fully supported by all the major banking institutions, as you may well imagine. They've LOST numerous, costly court actions brought about by people like ourselves and thus have a checkered history, to say the least. Document them. Then, NAIL THEM. Put some funds into YOUR account by court actions, instead of Portfolio's.

They repeatedly call from an unlimited number of phone numbers in all area codes trying to collect on ancient and bogus debts trying to find anyone to scare into sending them money.

They said they were a collection agency, but I have never had credit with the people they claimed I owe.. I called them back after reading about them and told them they should be ashamed of themselves for doing this to people, they rely on the point that they will fool a percentage of people and collect fake debts! thieves!
