The one time I answered the 866 number, they attempted to get me to 'upgrade my phone' for Verizon. They began asking me for account information and credit card information. I told them no, told them to not call me again and hung up on them. Speaking to Verizon using their confirmed contact number, the representative stated that this is NOT a legitimate call/number from their company and they issued a fraud report. I answered no to question 12 below as I have done business with Verizon, but the people making these calls are confirmed to NOT be Verizon, just scammers attempting to trick actual Verizon customers.

Free Government Grant of $7,000 for being a good citizen: paying bills and taxes on time and no bankruptcy in past 6 months as well as no criminal record. Gave Grant Approval # of WG 1037 and asked me to call back their financial center & give them the approval # and they would issue the grant. Did not call their financial center. They did call last week but the caller's accent was very thick & there was a lot of background noise so I couldn't understand what they were saying. When I told them this, they hung up.

Got call from them about a month ago and when they asked if they could reduce my interest rate I asked them on what card. I was told that it was any card as they handled all the credit card rate reductions. When I tried to get more information they "hemmed around". Finally asked if they were part of reorganized ACORN and they hung up. Received a call again today and call was disconnected. No one came on the line.
