About this time yesterday I received this same call from a Verizon cell number that was spoofed (stolen) other than today's number. The Verizon 216-973 exchange are blocks of Verizon cell numbers used in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area. Like yesterday my Caller ID shows this number to be "NOT SAFE NUMBER". This call is the Faux Disney phone scam running rampant in the Cleveland area.
The call start off with giggling & and a female robo voice saying "Oh sorry, I was adjusting my headsets." Then "Emily" starts her spiel. The call recipient is told they are getting this call from a previous resort stay and "Emily" has a resort offer for you. This NOT the "real" Disney as they have no locations in Cleveland, Ohio nor would they make calls for resort stays using a spoofed/stolen number.
If the call recipient waits long enough, a rude real man comes on the phone. It's been reported by some he drops F-bombs. He will tell one in order to get this resort stay that there is a small processing fee and give him your credit or debit card number. Once fallen for this Scam, the call recipents charge card gets maxed out or the attached bank account to the debit card gets emptied in a matter of minutes. Not only has that happened, but these criminals now have one's personal identity as well as their financial information. Do NOT fall for this Scam!
The local Cleveland news media have reported on this and is confirmed as a telephone Scam.
