REPORT THESE DPS in UTAH CALLS TO YOUR LOCAL POLICE and your PHONE COMPANY! PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE! Since I only got this cell number recently, I have only given it to certain people. I ditched my land line, though, so when I have ordered things from the Internet, this is the number I give.

Yesterday, I received a call at 10:18am from (716) 392-7132 (KEEP reading...this pertains to the (267)392-7132 number). When I answered it, the man asked for me by name, and I said "yes?". He said he was calling from DPS in UTAH, and that my name was selected to be in the running for $25,000 cash or a new Ford Mustang. He was speaking fast. He then asked if I still had my Visa and MasterCards, which I STUPIDLY replied "yes", then he continued to say that all I had to do was to answer a few survey questions. He continued with "Are you single, married, divorced" and then the line went dead.

I had the worst feeling about this, because:
1. He called me by name
2. He had a number that few people had, and the only other ones that had it were business on line that I had placed orders with
3. He asked about Visa and MasterCard

I immediately called the number back to see who would answer, and got the "Number is out of service, disconnected, etc..." message. They just called me and the following second it was disconnected??? Definitely something stinks here!

I then called Verizon (my provider) to report that I received a call like this and it definitely sounded fraudulent. While she checked the number that called me, I got on the Internet to check 411.com, which told me the number was also a Verizon wireless number from Buffalo, NY. The Verizon rep couldn't tell me anything about it except it was not in service. She advised me to report it to my local police dept.

After that, I got on the phone with my credit card companies, canceled those cards and ordered new ones, telling each of them the situation. It's obvious t
