I work for ebsco teleservices. We do call people back if there is an answering machine as we are not allowed to leave messages. I would like to add that we are telemarketers, however we work on behalf of the publisher of several different magazines and also do research for businesses. If you are on the national do not call list, we still have the right to call you since the magazine company had a business relationship with you. Under the do not call law, we can call you if you have had a subscription with the magazine we are calling you about to renew since you have had a relationship with the company that we are representing. Also, if you have changed phone numbers or have had your phone disconnected for any reason, you will need to add your number to the do not call list again. And if you ask us when we call you to remove your number from our list, we will do so. However, it takes a little while to get out of our system. So, just so you are aware, any company that you have done business with, regardless of what it is, they have the right to call you since you have done business with them. And if you want, you can call the company directly and let them know you would like your number removed from their list. Our intentions are not to bother you, but to offer you the lowest price possible on your magazine renewals.

You are trying to justify calling me 5 times in one day because you are just trying offer me the lowest price possible on my magazine renewals?

What a joke. This is just flat out harassment and IS illegal. Even if I have done business with someone you are representing, you are only allowed to call once a day.

I would never ever do business with a company who does business this way. Period.
