I got scammed for $3000 by Shane Watson supposedly from Anytech365.com's refund dept. They had me fill out their form online, let them remotely access my computer, and told me how much to enter - then added a 0 to the amount I entered when I entered it, sounded panicked, and had me go get $3500 in $500 gift cards. Luckily, the bank stopped me at $2500. They'd transferred money from my step mother's checking (that shows up on my computer when our bank's website's opened up), into my checking, and then had me get the gift cards. I'm scrambling to get the money back into my step mother's account before I tell her about it. I've changed all the login info, deleted the programs that gave them remote access, and I'm doing a thorough computer clean and defrag today. A new checking account is in my very near future too.
