The Texas Senior Medicare Patrol has received complaints about Medicare scam calls from 404-465-3446. The LIVE female caller from “senior health care providers,” states that she is updating information for Medicare. She inquired about the victim’s itching and dry skin and breast cancer (victim has never had breast cancer). When victim refused to answer anymore questions, the caller said, “I AM GOING TO KILL YOU,” and then hung up. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SCAM WITH THREATS. MEDICARE WILL NEVER CALL YOU. Report these scams to the Federal Trade Commission (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov) , Medicare Office of the Inspector General (https://oig.hhs.gov/fraud/report-fraud/index.asp) and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https://www.smpresource.org). DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR MEDICARE OR SOCIAL SECURITY IDS. Check your Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs). If you see that Medicare has been billed for something that neither you nor your doctor has ordered, report that information immediately to 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-632-4227), and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (1-877-808-2468, or https://www.smpresource.org).
