just happened to me also. i told him (indian accent) i would have my computer tech friend call him back and he hung up on me.
First I got a call from someone with an Asian Indian accent alleging to be Dell. Told them I had to go. Then got a call from "this" number (from this blog) and the guy "acted" like he was reviewing my system (made the mistake of letting him on it), and then wanted to charge me outrageous amounts for software program like registry and ram optimizers. I told him it sounded exactly like a scam, and then I plugged in the phone number, and this blog came up; WOW!
Just called on my personal cell and told me that my Windows 10 software (which I don't own or use) was compromised and that would help me fix it. Person had a middle eastern accent. Told him I was reporting him and his phone number and continued to argue with me.
I agree..they did the same to me..but I got them back.
It's a scam. They're calling pretending to be "computer techs" and want to walk you through downloading a program to fix errors on your computer. What you're actually downloading is a remote access program and they hijack your computer and demand payment to give it back. when you refuse, they'll download a virus and shut your machine down...they'd probably do that anyways if you paid them
