This is a spoofed number and not originated in the United States. The call is coming from the O'Higgins region of Rancagua, Chile. The originating phone number in Chile is: 56 72 630 0269
I called the (567) 263-0026 number back after hearing the BS Treasury Dept scam and threat. I traced the number on the outgoing call using "TrueCaller" and after a couple of rings the number on my phone's display changed from the Ohio number to the Chile number I just mentioned. Within a ring or two on the Chile number a recording from Verizon Wireless broke in and disconnected the call. The recording said that they couldn't complete the call. Verizon probably knows this a scam to forward your call to an overseas exchange stacking up huge long-distance fees in the process and put a stop to it.

Yes they called me and left the same message. When you call back the number he gives 567-263-0027 is a nonworking number. He needs to be shut down.

They never use my name - which was my fisrt indicator that that was frad - heavy indian accent

Today, 6/11/15 received a call here in Northern CA from (567)263-0026 Toledo Ohio area same SPAM caller with Indian accent same odd ball IRS message that cannot possibly apply to me. I have an unlisted number, did not pick up the phone.

6/9 -Rceived a call claiming to be Alex Ferguson (with heavy accent) from the US Treasury regarding a federal offense and saying that to ignore this call would be considered a second attempt to avoid collection. I asked that he send me something in writing at which time he informed me that there was a notification sent and that there was no response initiating this call. I requested a second written notice but he threatened me that we needed to deal with this now to avoid in going in front of a magistrate or judge. I requested from him to provide me with Dept. of Treasury HQ phone number---he couldn't but he did provide me #15900 as his ID number and I informed him this was not a federal ID number at which time there was a nervous cough and he hung up. BEWARE there is a scam and I hope someone does something about it as there are a number of good and vulnerable people out there that will be taken in by this shark.

I too got a call 1/2 hr. ago stating I cannot hire an attorney because I was too late in paying back taxes ... I told "Rebecca Johnson" (Indian woman) that I will have to talk to my husband and accountant. She didn't want me to get off the phone and told me first I was going to be in jail for 6 mths then 3 yrs if I hung up the phone. I knew it was a SCAM right there and then ...

This person and scam is from Chile and it's pretty hard to deport someone when they are not even here. They do this form their native lands. People from other countries don't come here to run these scams, they aren't stupid. They do it from wherever they live knowing that the law enforcement in this country can't touch them.

More of the same with one exception ... I called him back and asked if they were aware how many complaints have already been registered online against this BS number. Suddenly, no response. I asked him if I needed to appear before a judge or magistrate to explain what a scumbag he was. He hung up on me.

I also received this message on my phone. "Alex Ferguson" had an Indian accent, did not address me by name, but said he was from the US treasury and I would be taken to court if I did not call him back. I knew it was a scam because first, it was a recorded message that looped through twice, and secondly something of that importance would be sent in a personal letter.

This number keeps calling me as well. Never asks me by name other than the usual that's stated in previous comments. I hope they get this guy and lock him up!!!!

Man with an Indian (?) accent, didn't identify whom he was trying to reach by name, claimed he was from US Treasury, and this was my second offense, so legal action would be necessary, unless I called him! As far as I know I'm square with the treasury. The phone number he left was "not accepting calls at this time" or else it was busy. Strange.

An auto dialer called claiming to be from Alex Ferguson (with Bangladesh accent) from the US Treasury claiming to be regarding a federal offense and saying that to ignore this call would be considered a second attempt to avoid collection. (What was the first attempt?) This call threatens that I must appear before a magistrate of judge. When I press redial, the number I see is: 9770221169243201#3. Hope this helps.
