Woman called me said she was Amer Exp.left a message on home phone.
Needed me to call at same number on my recorder. Erased it ..About 10 minutes later same call on cell phone so I answered. Said she got cell number on the ?? find me .? Told her my phones are listed on do not call.Any-how proceeded to ask me if I had applied for an AM.EX Platium
(someone did??)
and I told we do not use cards & she said she would turn it to fraud.
I THINK she WANTED MY INFORMATION.

Hello all. Okay, I've been in contact with the Amex corporate offices and have spoken to Ken Chenault's personal assistant about these calls. Amex admits they are making the calls, but amazingly, they aren't sure why they are making them. They are still looking into this, but it appears to be a telemarketing effort (and illegal one, since robocalls are now illegal in the U.S.).

If you get a call from Amex, please report it immediately to the FTC. They are starting an investigation and the more complaints they get, the more likely it will be that they can put a stop to it.

Call the FTC at 1-877-382-4357, and file a complaint in person about the calls. Make sure to tell them it was a robocall, and that you didn't ask to be called. Every complaint helps!

This is a recording telling us to call them and have our account number ready and that this is an important call
We dont have an American Express and never have!!!!!
