Woman with British accent has called twice this past week, informing me of my Microsoft account that was being removed unless I called back and give them $499.99. Ha, I don't even have a Microsoft account.
SCAM! Vmail from a Brit woman. Called back & got an Indian man on the phone who I could barely understand and began shouting at me when I asked them to email me details of our conversation. He said it was in reference to the $499 firewall subscription I signed up for at Best Buy and I could reference Anydesk.com for more information. I know these are scams and like to egg them on so the more I asked for specific info the more he got aggravated and actually hung up the phone on me. It baffles me that people can actually get scammed. Like....I would KNOW if I ever signed up for a $499 security feature from Best Buy because my computer was bought at an Apple store. Dummies.
I blocked the number and they were able to call again despite the VZW number block. Initial cal was Brit woman robo voice saying money would be taken out for my Microsoft account. Checking with my credit card to be safe.
This is a scam! They became very upset with me when I refused to give them my account information. They went thru my emails changed the password to my amazon account and ordered $100 in gift cards then cancelled when they realized that the account attached to my amazon account has limited funds,
Recording, urging you to call for a refund on your subscription. Sounds like a scam to me.
