They called my home, asked for me by name, and when I replied "May I ask who is calling", they hung up. Not Verizon - my bill is paid.

It is Verizon Wireless Finacial services. Your bill was late or overdue and nearing suspension. They called me for a girl at work that once sat at my desk and moved locations and phone numbers. When I told her that they called it and I googled and found these pages...she recognized it and I overheard her making payment arrangements with them. So this is in fact Verizon Wireless Credit and Collections. It is not spam, it isn't telemarketing. It's a collections call.
Thank God I use Sprint!

The person sounds professional. it could be verizon actually calling but everybody has there doubts. the 615 area code is for Nashville, Tennesse

They called me to pay my phone (which i have). They hung up so i called verizon & they said no 1 has called me from there

this number keeps calling, many times a day. It is not bill reminder from V. they call from a 866 number, does any one know who is is?

No name was given, just received quite a "few" calls from this number. And no, no message was left. If it was Verizon bill collection, as some of you suggest, then they would have left a message and it would be from a toll free number. This is another of many scam numbers, most likely trying to acquire information so they can use it for some illegal activity.

Eventually when you don;t aanswer, and they don't leave a message your debt is still valid and they will shut you off. No sweat for them.
