Scam. They will tell you your computer has virus' and they need to fix them. If you tell them to go f themselves they will call even more. oops.
Caller I.D. came up "Toll Free 1-800-433-2392" When I heard the foreign voice say "Can I talk to Helen", I knew it was a scam. I said "I know this is a scam. The Police are listening to this phone call now. Don't EVER call this number again." He said "Ok, I will talk to you later."
I screamed 'NEVER!!!'. We pay these g.d. phone bills, and can't EVEN use our phones. Note: Also, I have recorded a message on my ans. machine that simply says "Call Screening is ON. Leave a message."
But, I did pick this one up, BECAUSE it is the first one I ever got that said "Toll Free". Usually that would be a FedX delivery notice. Not anymore. These damned THUGS should be stopped!!!!!!!!!!!
I got several calls from previous "Dell Support" numbers so I blocked them, and they changed to this number. I recently signed up for the free NOMOROBO, and the call was intercepted after 1 ring and not allowed to go through.
For the past month, I have received dozens of calls from 800 numbers "pretending" to be DELL tech support. The numbers they call from changes almost daily and they call multiple times a day. Google searches of the numbers they use confirm that these are the numbers used by the scammers who are pretending to be from DELL trying to gain access to your computer. Do not engage with them. Block their calls. It will not, however, prevent them from calling you continuously.
Same pattern as the rest. A man with an Indian accent presented himself as a Dell technician and asked if he could speak with Mr. . He said that they had found out that the Dell services on my computer (I do have a Dell) had been stopped over the last couple of weeks. I asked him to send an email with the info and said goodbye.
