Just got a call from Private Caller. She said her name was Christie and she was calling from Dell Technical Support. She gave me a line about receiving error messages from my computer. She asked me the last time I was on my computer and I said I'm on it all day, every day. I'm on it right now. I told her it's running fine and Dell even updated my drivers and scanned it last week. All is well. She said the problem must be on the back end and asked that I press my Ctrl and the Win flag and then "R" to let them check for what's causing the error messages. I told her I'm not doing that. She asked me why. I said because I've spoken to Dell and they say these are fraudulent calls and she said how could she know this verification information if it were fraudulent? I said you got the info illegitimately from Dell. I asked for her call back number and she gave me 1-800-808-9925 but warned me it could take 5 to 6 hours to get through. I told her that's fine. I'll wait. She kept trying to get around that, so I asked to speak to her supervisor. He came on and I said, "I've contacted Dell, and they've assured me these are fraudulent calls. I'm going to have to trust Dell here." He hung up. I filled out a report at the Dell scam link.
