What is a "Government Scam" Robocall?

Scammers who call people posing as a government agency are commonly referred to as "government scams". There are many different agencies these callers pose as, but they most commonly pose as the IRS. They say you have not paid your taxes and are wanted by the government. These calls can be very convincing, as they will usually have your name and home address, but they will request your social security number and sometimes even your bank information. There are other government agencies these scammers pose as, such as your local police department, the Social Security Administration, and Medicare. When people pose as government agencies, they are violating the law and should be reported immediately. If you are unsure if you are truly talking to a legitimate government agency or not, you can hang up the call, and call the real agency. Let them know you received a call asking for your information, and you want to be sure it wasn’t a scam call. The agency will be able to tell you if you are actually in trouble with them or not.

I just switched to T Mobile, I was curious as to why it called me too.
Researched it and it's the voice mail # for T mobileir asks what# your calling enter it and you'll reach that #'s vm.

They called me constantly last summer, saying things like "Your eligibility will expire shortly." Called 3 times a week and kept spamming me with voicemails, even though I blocked their calls. They finally quit after I reported them for harassment.
