Scam. I have received similar calls before. They (somehow) get your computer id and possibly name and try to make you believe there is a problem with your computer that they need to access in order to fix. Then try to get you to pay for services they offer (but they don't have any services). Same old tricks all scammers use (I often talk with them a while to entertain myself) trying to say we spoke before, or they worked on the computer before, or we had previously called them. Play with them for awhile, for entertainment, to see how many lies you can get them to weave, but don't give any information. They will eventually hang up.

They called but since i didn't know the number i didn't answer. I called back - curious - and they answered. I said i had received a call from this number and was wondering what sort of business it was. They asked for my name so they could look me up. I said, no, tell me what sort of business you are first. They insisted they needed my name; so i said never mind, i'll just block you. Seriously? "What sort of business" are you is going to throw them into a tizzy? Not very scam savvy are they? sheesh...makes me want to call back and prank call them.

This man identified himself as Sam Smith from Microsoft. He stated that I had 36 bad viruses on my computer that I needed to get off of it. I had just bought the computer online thru ebay. It is brand new and Dell desktop product. I emailed the company thru ebay that I purchased it from and they assured me this is a scam and I needed to have it investigated. I was in abit of a delima as I forgot my computer and was called home urgently to ailing parents. I needed the computer for work related. I went ahead and purchased the plan he was pushing me $499.99 for unlimited years and for all my computers for when I got home. I have had an uneasy feeling about this ever since. i am in the process of seeing if my credit card will be able to recover some or all of the money. the guy is very rude (calls himself-Sam Smith), he can't type spelling of words correctly and has a thick accent. I should have caught it when the payment had something to do with a China exchange money rate. Here are some phone numbers that I received with this company as well there are alot of no caller ID's that came in. +1-818-824-4946-Los Angeles, CA; 1-347-468-8859; 1-800-476-3134; and there are more.

the caller said he was from windows and that my computer was generating virus and error messages. First, Microsoft does not call users, second this is a scam so the foreign caller can access your computer and download viruses or talk you into purchasing some bogus repair program and suck your bank account dry. Hang up on these evil people!
