A man called this afternoon (11-24-15) stating they had a report from Microsoft stating I had a virus in my computer. I've gotten a few calls from these people before. BIG SCAM. Told the guy I was 92 years old & had no idea how to run a computer & hung up on him! Don't fall for this scam!!
Caller claims I have a refund coming for a computer I bought and paid too much for the purchase. Another time they said I have been disconnected from the Microsoft Server and I need to log on to the internet and will receive instructions from the caller on how to fix it. The first caller's name was Brandon. They have been calling every day for the last 10 days, sometimes at 5 am.
Said they were calling from windows and there is a security issue and wanted me to log onto my computer. Never said his name only that this (my cell) number is listed to notify to call when there's an security issue with windows. He was getting very upset (I was laughing at him) because I wouldn't log onto and told him that windows wouldn't personally call me and if it was a security issue I'd have my husband whom works for Microsoft call him. Yep he hung up.
his name brandon from microsoft security said my computer has been hack and wants $400.00 to fix the problem
Claims to be associated with Microsoft and insists there are problems with my computer network and wants to fix it for $4000.
I called Microsoft and they said this was a complete scam and never to send them any money or give them remote access or control of your computer.
