Scam

I have a Dell computer which is still Windows XP which I bought about about 10 years ago, it has not been connected to the Internet for at least 5 - 7 years because I have another up to date desktop that has nothing to do with DELL. They must be using old lists because I get a lot of these calls a day telling me about some security software they installed on my computer last year, I don't even have the same email or even server. WHAT A JOKE and SCAM

Under Federal law these robo calls are illegal.

But much more interesting that that is that these "outfits" can/have been sued and they have had to pay damages. Check out "Top Class Action" on the internet.

I don't have a Dell but I too receive numerous calls daily!!! Same story -- the software I purchased last year has expired & my computer has been compromised. Pure scam!!

Yep, hounding me like a dog re: a security breach on my computer. I said I'd call Dell, they then hung up and have called twice since.

I got the same call. I wouldn't have called back, but they kept calling over and over, so I finally decided to call and phish for details. I too have a Dell, and they knew my email, phone number, and service tag. Wondering how they got it??? I'm curious if it was a Dell hack or if Dell sold their customer list to this company. I suspect it is the latter. I hate it for the seniors who own Dells and end up falling for the scam. If I could've rached through the phone and strangled the guy, I would have. Dell needs to deal with this.

Got the same call as noted by Greppy. Call him back. Polite, foreign accent. ?Nigerian. Told me that security software I had purchased "last year" had expired in January. I asked what software? Said,"Sonic Wall." (I never did and do not have such software). He wanted to connect me with his "secure server". They would "update the software". Asked what this would cost? $148.00 for 1 year. (worse: he would have my credit card info and probably access to my computer). He DID know that I own a Dell computer, my name, and my service tag which makes me think he's hacked Dell. I called Dell and they said they are not aware of being hacked but never make these kinds of calls themselves. Of course I didn't supply any information and advise that no else should either.

Received 3 calls within 3 hours from this number. They left a voicemail stating "The antivirus software you recently downloaded is showing a red flag and has a virus." I did not install any antivirus software on any of my PCs. Called the number back, man on the other line only said he was "Tech Support". Politely asked to be put on a do not call list. Man I spoke with was happy to do so with no fuss. Definitely a Spam Number

So Greppy, did they stop calling you after you asked them to put you on a do not call liste?
