858-716-6364 has called me three times in past week. no v/m but I never answer. looks like I'm not the only one getting calls from this number....

Three calls from this number in the past week. Each time they left a message on my machine that started before the outgoing message ended. They repeated it at least twice since the recorded message had the end of their message followed by the full message again, and their full message did not run as long as my outgoing message as the perky female voice was reading at a mile a minute pace.

Message left was:
"This is an important announcement, please do not hang up. The US Department of Education has announced that consumers may now qualify to have their student loans forgiven. Please press 1 now to answer two simple questions to see if you qualify, or press 9 to be removed from future notices."

Received the exact same message from 213-503-8127 & 213-257-5233 several weeks ago.

Left v.m. saying I'd win free cruise for correctly answering trivia question.

If you call the number back, it has been 'disconnected'. The call is being masked somehow. They did not leave a message.

I called Verizon to report this and they had me email their scam department with date, time, and details of my call.

They called me, it's a scam. I called number back and it said it was a Verizon payment center and asked for me to enter my cell number, then my credit card. I didn't!!

I called Verizon and reported the number to them. They are looking into it. In meantime, I just blocked the number.

This is the same scam from another number that has been calling for months - 213-503-8127. Obviously the same people using a new number.

Robo Voice first says: Can you hear me Okay? and when you respond, the Robo Voice continues with indistinguishable first company name followed by "Customer Service." When you tell them to STOP, the Robo Voice continues with the all expenses paid cruise to the Bahamas, followed by asking if I have a Credit Card?!?! When I let it finish, I say I need to know what customer service company is calling me. The Robo Voice says: "Sorry to bother you and hangs up. Something else worth mentioning here is that I received a Dead Air Call from 323-486-4247 just prior to getting this computerized call for the Bahamas. Maybe it's trolling for numbers who answer their phones.
